Turkey's deployment in Libya
Turkey has received the parliaments green light to deploy troops to Libya for a period of one year.
This was on a request by the Tripoli-based government that has been fighting an insurgency. The Turkish defense minister says it is his countrys moral obligation to help the UN-backed government in Libya, yet, some observers argue ideological sympathies play a minor role in Ankaras decision to intervene in Libya.
