German Cup: B. Dotmund 2-1 B. Monchengladbach
In the German Cup, Borussia Dortmund have seen off a spirited Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 at Signal Iduna Park.
It was a close contest, and it finished scoreless in the first-half. but Monchengladbach piled on the pressure and took the lead as Marcus Thuram headed the ball home from close range in the 71st minute.
Dortmund rallied and found the equalizer 12 minutes later, when German striker Julian Brandt found the back of the net. Only 3 minutes later, Brandt scored the winning goal with an excellent header from inside the box, to secure Dortmund’s place in the last 16 of the German Cup.
