Manchester City have taken a big step toward reclaiming the Premier League title after edging past their visitors Tottenham Hotspur 1-0.
After a typical fast start to the game at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, the defending Champions took the lead in the 5th minute with a diving close range header by their 18-year-old English midfielder Phil Foden. The hosts, who had been knocked out of the Champions League by Spurs three days ago, held on to their slender advantage to exact a measure of revenge and go top of the table with 86 points, one more than second-place Liverpool. Tottenham, meanwhile, who are after top four finish for Champions League qualification, remain third with 67 points.
