In the National Hockey League, the Washington Capitals have suffered a 4-2 home loss at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Capitals needed only 18 seconds to open the scoring as Chandler Stephenson netted the puck on a rebound.

The Maple Leafs tied it in the middle frame thanks to Kasperi Kapanen. Just about a minute later, Evgeny Kuznetsov put the home side in front with a power play goal, but Par Lindholm scored his first NHL goal to make it 2-2.

In the third period, the visitors scored two more goals through Josh Leivo and Auston Matthews to complete the away victory.
