Israel atrocities in Gaza
Israeli forces have been especially brutal in dealing with anti-occupation protesters near the so-called buffer zone along the Gaza Strip. They have shot and killed dozens of Palestinians there over the past weeks. Hundreds of other protesters have been shot and seriously injured. Medics have described their injuries as horrific, warning that many of the wounded Palestinians are likely to suffer from permanent disabilities.
Macron-Trump talks
There is no doubt that French President Emmanuel Macron is US President Donald Trump’s favorite European leader. But the two don’t see eye to eye when it comes to two major issues: Iran and trade. Macron says the Iran nuclear deal should remain in place while the US president has repeatedly threatened to scrap it. Another point of contention is trade. The Europeans aren’t too keen on Trump’s protectionist policies.
