US President Donald Trump says he sees eye to eye with his choice for his administration’s new top diplomat. He’s absolutely right about that because Mike Pompeo is just as hawkish as Trump is. The close relationship between the two men has some on Capitol Hill worried. Will Pompeo be able to stand up to Trump when it comes to tough global issues? Or will he be another ‘yes-man’ in a cabinet plagued with multiple scandals, inconsistent policies and what’s been dubbed as the president’s twitter diplomacy?

The 2015 nuclear deal Iran signed with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany has been challenged by US President Donald Trump over and over again. The JCPOA, as it’s called, will face its latest challenge in the coming weeks when President Trump decides whether he wants the US out or not. He’s constantly said that he would withdraw from the deal. But as the due date for him to take such an action nears, it seems he’s having a change of heart.
