Iran overcomes Jordan at 2018 West Asian Women’s Handball Championship

Iranian handball players have added another emphatic win to their unblemished record at the 2018 West Asian Women’s Handball Championship in Jordan, defeating the host nation.

Shahid Chamran Larestsan team, which is representing the Islamic Republic at the continental sports event, downed Jordan 28-15 in its third fixture of the regional tournament at Princess Sumaya Hall of al-Hussein Youth City in the Jordanian capital city of Amman.

 The Iranian handball team had hammered Iraq 43-8 in its opening match on February 15, and posted a 29-19 win over Lebanon the following day.

Shahid Chamran Larestsan squad is scheduled to face Syria in its last match on Wednesday.

The 2018 West Asian Women’s Handball Championship started on February 15, and will run through February 21.

The six-day and league-format competition has brought together best female players from Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Qatar.
