France's Emmanuel Macron commemorated his first Armistice Day as the country's president on Saturday, marking the day fighting ended on the Western Front during World War One in 1918.
Macron inspected French troops and laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Arc de Triomphe monument at the top of the Champs Elysees avenue.
Former French Presidents Nicolas Sarkozy and Francois Hollande also attended the ceremony, which attracted crowds despite drizzle and gray skies.
