US President Donald Trump on Friday promised APEC summiteers of a first-for-each and fair-for-all trade and development partnership for the Asia-Pacific region which he termed as the Indo-Pacific.

"From this day forward we will compete on a fair and equal basis. We are not going to let the United States be taken advantage of anymore. I am always going to put America first the same way that I expect all of you in this room to put your countries first. The United States is prepared to work with each of the leaders in this room today to achieve mutually beneficial commerce that is in the interests of both your countries and mine. That is the message I am here to deliver," Trump told the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO summit in Vietnam's central city of Da Nang.

The US president called for efforts to confront security, sovereignty and stability threats facing the world.

"Today I am here to offer renewed partnership with America, to work together to strengthen the bonds of friendship and commerce between all of the nations of the Indo-Pacific and together to promote our prosperity and security," said Trump.

The three-day APEC CEO summit concluded Friday with some 2,000 business representatives from around the world on board to discuss issues related to regional economic growth and integration.
