The head coach of Iran national under-17 football team, more commonly known as Nojavanan, has insisted that his side is confident and prepared ahead of 2017 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) U-17 World Cup quarter-final clash against Spain.

“It is of special significance to anyone to attain their goal. Fortunately, morale amongst Iranian players is very high at the moment. Even though some had doubted our abilities to fulfill our objectives, we managed to do so. Iranian footballers have been training hard over the past few months and recent days,” Abbas Chamanian said.

He added, “Luckily, the atmosphere is pleasant, and our players are determinedly training.

“The Spain national under-17 football team, with style and tactics of its own, is really good. It has four influential players. Moreover, nine of its players are currently playing for professional football clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid. Iranian footballers will enter the field with great vigor and valor.”

Iran national under-17 football team is scheduled to meet Spain in its quarter-final showdown on October 22.

On October 17, the Iranian footballers defeated the Mexican outfit 2-1 in a round of 16 match played at the multi-purpose Fatorda Stadium, officially known as the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in the Indian city of Margao, and advanced to the next level of the tournament.
