Police in Israel have arrested six people, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s former chief of staff, as part of an investigation into alleged corruption surrounding the purchase of German submarines.

On this episode of the Sun Will Rise, we discuss Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s investigation, what that means for the Palestinians, and if it means a possible new government. They are suspected of offenses including bribery, tax fraud and money laundering in deals worth over 1.5 billion euros to buy Dolphin submarines and patrol corvettes from Germany's ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems.

Israel's premier has defended purchasing six German submarines the military says are too expensive and not needed. There have been allegations of financial links between Netanyahu's attorney and the German shipbuilder.

The scandals resulting from accusations against him and his inner circle have raised questions about his political survival. He denies all allegations of wrongdoing, and is not required to stand down unless convicted. The question remains, what will happen to PM Benjamin Netanyahu? Is Israel looking at a new even further ‘right wing’ government?
