France's National volleyball team has edged past hosts Japan 3-nothing to grab their first win at the 2017 World Grand Champions Cup.
The French won 25-15, 25-23 and 25-23 at the Nippon Gaishi Hall. They have an impressive record over Japan as they have now won 10 out of their last 11 matches between the sides at world level.
Also on Wednesday, Iran team earned their second win at the 2017 World Grand Champions Cup after coming back from 2 sets down to defeat the USA 3-2.
The Iranians, who had produced a strong performance on Tuesday to overcome Italy 3-2, were far from their best at the beginning of the Wednesday match as they lost the first 2 sets 25-20 and 25-17.
But, they stole the show later with a stunning come back to outclass their rivals 27-25 and 25-21 to level the match at 2 sets apiece and send it to a decider where the Asian Giants stood firm and snatched the 5th set 15-12 to mark one of the most memorable wins in the history of the FIVB for the Iranians.
