US President Donald Trump has offered mediation to help end the diplomatic rift, which has been gripping the Persian Gulf region over the past months.
This is while it is believed that the diplomatic dispute first erupted following a visit by Trump to the region. The US president also stands accused of fueling the dispute by making contradictory remarks on the matter.
