Wales managed to edge Austria 1-nil in Cardiff in group D of the 2018 World Cup qualifications.

The Welshmen needed a victory to maintain a realistic prospect of qualifying automatically, but they were over-run by Austria in a goalless 1st half.

However, the hosts were dominant after the break, and found the much needed goal in the 74th minute, when Liverpool striker Ben Woodburn, unleashed a powerful 20-yard-strike, to send a packed Cardiff City Stadium into rapture.

This however, gives Wales only a little hope of qualifying automatically, as they have to see what goes down in the other match-ups.
