Summer Universiade: Iran beat Russia in 5 sets, win gold

Iran Volleyball team have won Gold at the 2017 Summer Universiade by overcoming Russia in a 5-set thriller in Chinese Taipei. 

The Persians started the match with full force on Tuesday and won the first set 25-17, but the Russians came back in the second and third, taking both sets 25-15 and 25-23 respectively.

Iran, however, found their rhythm and style back again in the fourth and managed to tie the match at 2 apiece by grabbing the set 26-24.

The Iranian athletes then continued their strong performance to win the fifth and final set 15-13 and hand the Islamic Republic their first ever Gold of the contest.
