US lack of concern for life

The Syrian Democratic Forces which is an alliance of Kurdish and Arab fighters is closing in on Daesh in Raqqah; the terrorist group’s self-proclaimed capital in Syria. And the US warplanes have been providing air support to the SDF during its offensives. But growing civilian casualties as a result of indiscriminate US air raids have largely cast a cloud over the military gains against Daesh. Latest reports out of the battered city say such strikes have claimed the lives of at least 100 civilians including women and children over the course of 48 hours. Concerned about the civilian cost of the campaign to retake Raqqah, the UN has raised the alarm over US-led airstrikes which are launched without consent from Damascus or the world body.

US's hollow request to inspect Iran's military sites

There have always been tensions between Iran and the US since 1979 the Islamic Revolution’s victory in the Middle Eastern nation. Washington stands accused of having used each and every pretext to keep up pressure on Iran. But no previous excuse has been used to the full by the White House like the Iran nuclear deal. Now the Islamic Republic says the Trump administration is looking for a pretext to junk the deal to step up pressure on Iran. But the US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley denies this.
