Messi scores twice as Barcelona beat Alaves 2-0

Barcelona have defeated La Liga rivals Alaves 2-nil, thanks to Lionel Messi’s brace.

The first-half finished goalless after The Argentinean superstar missed a penalty kick. But he made-up for the mistake, and opened the scoring in the 55th minute, when his shot took a little deflection and found its way into the back of the net.

Messi then ensured there would be no way back for Alaves, by volleying home his 2nd in the 66th minute from inside the box. The Argentine could have even had a hat-trick, but his 20-yard-effort hit the bar. So 2-nil the final score, and 6 points from 2 matches.
