The crisis in Yemen is deepening. Saudi Arabia, with the help of the United States and its regional allies, has destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure leaving the country in a political vacuum. The absence of a central government has provided fertile ground for the growth of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which is considered a terrorist group by the United States. The US-backed war in Yemen has helped a dangerous group on the US terror list.
