Global coalition to defeat Daesh in Syria

The Syrian president has hailed Iran, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Russia for their fight against terrorists in Syria. Bashar al-Assad has also rebuked the West forthe psychological war they have waged against Damascus and its allies in fighting terrorism. The comments come as the Syrian forces are gaining more ground while many countries have stopped calling for Assad’s departure. What is the root cause of terrorism in Syria?

In this edition of The Debate, Press TV has interviewed Kevin Barrett, an editor of Veterans Today from Madison, and Richard Millet, a journalist and political commentator from London, to discuss Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's recent comments on his country's friends for their support in fighting terrorism.
