Sudanese poet shares her poetic life story with refugees

Sudanese poet Emi Mahmoud has used her talent to raise awareness about the continued violence in Darfur and the wider refugee cause.

Prominent Sudanese poet Emi Mahmoud has visited a refugee camp in Uganda where people fleeing the conflict in South Sudan have been given shelters. She shared her experience of life and death in a unique and sobering poem written about the crisis that has displaced millions and left countless children without parents. Our correspondent Daniel Arapmoi has filed this report from Kampala.
