La Liga champions Real Madrid have won the Spanish Super Cup with ease after beating arch rivals Barcelona 5-1 on aggregate which was completed with a 2-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos entered the Thursday encounter after a 3-1 victory at Camp Nou. They were without their superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who is suspended for five matches for pushing the referee in the first leg.

That, however didn’t affect Real’s dominant performance as they went ahead after only four minutes through Marco Asensio who scored with an excellent 25-yard strike.

Karim Benzema then sealed the deal for the hosts by adding their second in the 38th minute. Barca failed to make amends throughout the rest of the match although they hit the woodwork twice in the second half through Messi and Suarez.
