The defending Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich have won the 2017 Supercup, after beating the DFB Pokal Cup winners Borussia Dortmund 5-4 in a penalty shootout.

Dortmund's high-pressing game worked when Christian Pulisich opened the scoring, 12 minutes into the match. The Bavarian giants fought back, and only 6 minutes later Robert Lewandowski leveled the match at 1-all, converting Joshua Kimmich's excellent cross.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang restored Dortmund's lead in 71st minute, finishing-off a rapid counter-attack, with a chip over the keeper.

Dortmund defender Wukash Pishchek scored an own goal, and the match went into a penalty shootout, where Bayern’s goalie Sven Ulreich managed to save 2 penalties, handing Bayern the victory, and their 6th Supercup title.
