Green-powered boat to make round the world trip

Green vessel

The world's first boat to be powered by renewable energy has embarked on an intercontinental journey.
The "Energy Observer" is designed to spark an exchange about innovative ideas to address climate change.

The vessel is covered in solar panels and is equipped with wind turbines and a hydrogen fuel cell system.

When there is no sun or wind, the boat will use hydrogen as fuel. Hydrogen generated by electrolysis, is powered by renewable energies.

The 5 million euro boat plans to make 101 stopovers in 50 countries as part of a six year circumnavigation.
