World's first solar-powered family car unveiled in Netherlands

World's first solar-powered family car

A startup has unveiled the world's first solar-powered family car in the Netherlands. “Stella Vie” is the brainchild of Lightyear, a solar team from Eindhoven University of Technology.

The group has already won two awards for their green product. The car is already on its way to the market, with its creators expecting to take it to the streets by next summer.

The car can run in any city with an electric grid, which means that it does not need any special infrastructure.

Moreover, the car features independent in-wheel motors for each wheel, large indoor space for family use and large storage space due to the absence of a central engine.

A main issue for solar-powered cars in the Netherlands is that the Dutch climate may not produce enough sun energy. But the company is confident that this won’t be a problem.
