Iran's Sarmayeh Bank crested in 2017 AVC Club Championship

Iranian professional volleyball team Sarmayeh Bank has clinched the title of the 2017 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, and managed to overcome Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza of Japan in the final showdown of the continental tournament.

On Thursday, the Iranian squad overcame the Inazawa-based men's volleyball team 3-0 (39-37, 25-14 and 25-23) at the Ninh Binh Gymnasium in the northern Vietnamese city of Ninh Bình to make it two in a row and Iran’s 12th title at the top-tier competition.

In the third-place playoff earlier, Qatar’s Al Arabi Sports Club beat Kazakhstan’s Altay VC with a comeback 3-1 (22-25, 25-13, 25-20 and 25-19) win to grab bronze.

The 2017 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship was held in the Vietnamese cities of Ninh Bình and Nam Định between June 28 and July 6.

Samayeh Bank recorded a hard-earned 3-1 (24–26, 25–18, 25–16 and 25–19) win over Al Arabi in the title clash of the 2016 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship in the Myanmar capital city of Naypyidaw.

Japan’s Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza finished in third place after edging past Shanghai Golden Age of China 3-2 (21–25, 25–23, 19–25, 25–17 and 13–15) in an exhausting five-set thriller.
