The inquest to determine how a young black woman died in one of the UK’s largest prisons has begun in central London. 32-year old Sarah Reed died in disputed circumstances whilst being held on remand inside Holloway Prison in 2016. Family and campaigners are seeking answers about how the young mother died and why someone with diagnosed mental health conditions was incarcerated in the first place. Sarah Reed joins a tragic list of men and women in the UK to have died after coming in contact with state agents.
