Italy urges EU to take collective action against refugee crisis

About 12,000 people have been rescued from flimsy vessels last week alone in Italy. This comes as asylum seekers’ death toll in the Mediterranean Sea is rising. With the refugee crisis deepening each day in Europe, Italy, France and Germany have met in Paris to discuss measures aimed at helping Rome cope with the influx of asylum seekers.
