Sydney’s famous Opera House has launched a light projection of Indigenous art on to the building’s sails to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land.

The seven-minute display is titled "Badu Gili", which means 'Water Light' in the language of the aboriginal people. The event combines music and images to celebrate time-honored stories with contemporary art.

Organizers say it also creates a gateway to Australia’s first nations history and culture. The nightly animation includes the works of five Australian artists and is projected at sunset every evening.
