Thousands of people have gathered in Denmark's west coast to attend the 33rd International Kite Flyers Meeting.
Over 5,000 kite makers from Norway, Germany, Japan and the US demonstrate their skills in the Danish island of ‘Fano’.
The island has optimal kite flying conditions with steady winds and a 700-meter-wide beach that allows plenty of space to fly the frames.
The festival was founded by a young German in 1985. He decided to organize a kite fliers weekend with friends. That has evolved into an international, though non-commercial, grass roots event.
