China opens first Virtual Reality cinema

The cinema offers the audience a more interactive storytelling, giving them the chance to play any role they want in the film and even make a difference to the storytelling and movie ending.

Chinese electronics retailer Gome has opened the country’s first Virtual Reality cinema in Beijing.

Now everyone can have a VR experience simply with a ticket. The cinema offers the audience a more interactive storytelling, giving them the chance to play any role they want in the film and even make a difference to the storytelling and movie ending.

They can see a simulated world in 360 degrees through special glasses, which let them see, hear, smell, and even feel from all sides. The company plans to open 100 more cinemas across China in the next year. The world's first VR cinema was launched in Amsterdam last year.
