Iranians celebrate as country qualify for 2018 FIFA World Cup

Iranians have poured into the streets of Tehran to celebrate their country's qualification into next year's World Cup finals.

On Monday, Iran outclassed Uzbekistan 2-0 at the all famous Azadi Stadium with the help of Sardar Azmoun and Mahdi Taaremi to book their ticket to Russia.

Team Melli started the match strong, and managed to take the lead midway through the 1st half, after Azmoun beat the offside trap, and rippled the net with a low Shot. And 2 minutes from Time, Taaremi made it 2-0, and sealed Iran’s passage to the World Cup.

This is the 5th time that Team Melli have advanced for the World Cup finals and the first time they have achieved the feat twice in succession.

The other Group A matches are scheduled for Tuesday. Syria take on China, while South Korea travel to Qatar.
