A Slovenian chef who cooks with home-grown ingredients has been named The World’s Best Female Chef 2017.

Ana Ros is self-taught and combines traditional recipes with original twists. Ros fell into this career by chance when she inherited her family's restaurant 15 years ago.

The chef experiments with local specialties, enhancing them with spices, strong flavors and interesting designs.

A six course meal at her restaurant is available for €85 and an eleven course meal for €120 per person.
