PressTV cameraman confirmed dead after Kabul bombing

PressTV's late cameraman Habibollah Hosseinzadeh

PressTV's cameraman Habibollah Hosseinzadeh has been confirmed dead in Afghanistan seven days after a huge bomb explosion claimed the lives of at least 90 people and injured hundreds of others, mostly civilians, in Kabul.

Hosseinzadeh was among the dozens of people who had gone missing after he left his home for the PressTV office located near the blast site at around 8:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday.

The Daesh Takfiri terrorist group claimed responsibility for the massive bomb blast near the presidential palace and foreign embassies in the center of Kabul.

The precise target of the terrorist attack remained unclear, even though it hit Zanbaq Square, close to the German embassy.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran was also damaged in the explosion which also partially destroyed the Iranian ambassador’s residence.

The bomb blast on the highly-secured area is said to be “one of the biggest” in the city, which has already been the target of many terrorist attacks in the first three months of 2017.

At least 18 people were killed and dozens more injured in the Afghan capital on Saturday in multiple explosions that hit a funeral ceremony of a young man who had lost his life in deadly protests a day earlier.

Two days after the huge truck bomb in the heart of Kabul, Afghan riot police reportedly shot dead eight protesters amid clashes during an anti-government demonstration in the capital.

Some 1,000 demonstrators marched on Friday towards the site of Wednesday’s bombing at Zanbaq Square, close to the German Embassy, calling on the Afghan president to step down. The demonstrators argued that the Afghan officials are not capable of leading the country following months of instability across the nation.
