Volunteers clean up Russian lake Baikal
In Russia, a group of divers has gone to the depths of Lake Baikal for a massive rubbish cleanup. Twenty-two volunteers have come together to clear rubbish from the bottom of the lake.
The divers, who spent about an hour there, dragged out bags of rubbish they discovered in the lake. And everything they've found will be taken to recycle centers. The campaign of the annual ecological project called "360 minutes". The event kicked off in March and will run across the country in various conservation and preservation areas and national parks.
Baikal is the largest freshwater lake by its volume in the world. It contains about 20 percent of the world's total unfrozen freshwater reserve. Up to one million tourists visit the lake every year which is why it often gets littered.
