President Rouhani and Qatari emir hold talks

Problems in GCC countries of the Persian Gulf 
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and the Qatari emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have held talks over the phone. Rouhani described sectarianism and terrorism as major causes of the crises which have plagued the region for the past few years. He highlighted the importance of cooperation among regional countries to promote peace and stability. Rouhani noted that Iran and other Persian Gulf Arab countries can strengthen their bonds of brotherhood. The Qatari emir said that the only way to resolve the current crises in the region is dialog.

Trump's trip overseas
Donald Trump has wrapped up his first overseas trip as the US president. During his tour, Trump visited Saudi Arabia, Israel, Belgium and Italy where he attended NATO and G7 meetings. The president concluded his foreign trip with a speech before American service members at a base in Italy. Trump’s 9-day trip is viewed by many as an attempt to escape from the crush of controversies that have gripped his administration over his campaign's possible ties to Russia. However, the republican president whose decision to fire the FBI director earned him a firestorm of criticism, boasts that his trip has been a success.
