China preparing for Dragon Boat Festival
China has hosted boat races to celebrate the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival.
The event, which was held in central China, is more like a performance than a competition. Teams rowed colorful dragon boats to the rhythm of beating drums in a race to the finish line. More than three hundred participants made up 17 teams to participate in the race.
Three white, green and yellow dragon boats took to the water in different formations. The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar.
