Ott Tanak has moved into the lead of the Rally of Portugal after a dramatic end of the first full day.
With the 7 stage run, and 2 short street stages in Braga to come, the Estonian driver is the overall leader on the first day of the event. Spain's Dani Sordo in a Hyundai is 3.6 seconds behind Tanak, followed by World Champion Sebastien Ogier, who is 6.2 seconds behind the leader.
Kris Meeke took over in his Citroen after Stage 5, but slowed down a bit on Stage 6 to preserve his tires, allowing Tanak to take the lead after the stage. After the 2 Braga Street stages on Friday, there are 6 full stages on Saturday and another 4 on Sunday before the finish.
