Pye Ian, an economic and political researcher, says the process of democracy in Iran is “mutually respectful and informative,” whereas in the United States it is one of "distraction."

“The West accuses Iran of not holding a viable democratic process because it is an Islamic Republic and yet when we look at just this election process in Iran contrasted against what was happening just near months ago within the United States’ presidential election, it is like night and day,” Ian told Press TV in an interview on Friday.
