Spanish giants Real Madrid have moved within one point of securing the La Liga title after thrashing Celta Vigo 4-1 at the Balaidos Stadium.

Los blancos entered the Wednesday encounter knowing that four points from their final two matches would guarantee them the crown despite Barcelona’s efforts.

They managed to pass their first test at Vigo as Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo gave the Galacticos an early lead by firing an unstoppable shot past the keeper after just 10 minutes. CR7 then doubled Real’s advantage seconds after the break as he scored from close range to make it 2-0.

And, things got even worse for the hosts as they were reduced to 10-men in the 62nd minute as Iago Aspas received a red card. Despite that, Celta managed to pull one back some 7 minutes later through John Guidetti.

Karim Benzema, however, restored Madrid’s two goal cushion a minute later and Toni Kroos completed the rout with a fine strike. 4-1 the final score and with the triumph, Real took a step closer to the Spanish league crown.
