Italian Open: Rafael Nadal advances as Nicolas Almagro retires

Italian Open where world no.4 Rafael Nadal has advanced to the 3rd round after his fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro was forced to quit with a left-knee injury.

On Wednesday, the King of Clay had to stay on the court for only 24 minutes in his opening match in Rome, as Almagro was forced to retire after trailing 3-love. The 30-year-old Nadal is aiming for an 8th Rome Open title. And, he will go on to face American Jack Sock, who beat Jiri Vesely of the Czech Republic in the day’s other encounter.
