The four-time Madrid Open champion Rafael Nadal has made it through to the semifinals following a straight sets victory over David Goffin of Belgium.

The world No. 5 was pushed all the way by Goffin in the first set. But, he eventually took control of the tie-break to take the opener 7-6. The 30-year-old continued his dominance in the second and held on to win 6-2.

Next up for the Spaniard is a meeting with world No. 2 Novak Djokovic. The pair will meet for the 50th time on Saturday in one of the most exciting showdowns tennis has ever seen.
