Fresh tension between Catalonia, Madrid over referendum ballot boxes

Authorities in the autonomous Spanish region of Catalonia are pressing ahead with plans to hold a referendum despite opposition from the central government. Catalonia recently approved a budget plan to buy the ballot boxes, which will be used in the referendum. Spain's ruling executive says it will oppose the idea through all legal means.
