United Nations’ experts have called New Delhi’s ban on social networking in Indian-controlled Kashmir a collective punishment. They urged India to revoke the ban and allow free speech in the disputed region. The ban was imposed last month after mass demonstrations by students against an Indian army raid on a college in southern Kashmir. The protests continue unabated as the protesting students seek freedom from Indian rule. Our correspondent, Shahana Butt, reports.
