Arsenal have registered a 2-0 win over Southampton as their striker Alexis Sanchez reached 20 league goals in a season for the first time.

After a goalless first half, the Gunners managed to break the deadlock on the hour mark through Sanchez who scored from close range with a fine strike.

Arsenal then doubled their lead in the 83rd minute when Olivier Giroud put the game to bed just three minutes after coming off the bench by heading a cool header past the keeper. 2-0 the final score and with the triumph, Arsenal kept their hopes for a top four finish alive while Southampton continue towards their worst finish since 2013.
