Barcelona kept the pressure on Real Madrid in the title race, with a 4-1 victory over Villarreal at Camp Nou, on a night when Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar were all on target for the Catalans.
The hosts took the lead through a brilliant team-work, with Neymar capitalizing on a blocked shot from Messi, to roll the ball in from close-range after 21 minutes.
However, striker Seedrik Bakambu brought Villarreal level just 11 minutes later, when the Congolese made the most of a defensive Barcelona glitch, and slotted a curled effort past the keeper.
Barca regained the lead just before the break, as Messi's effort from the edge of the area took a slight deflection, and found its way into the bottom corner.
Suarez added a 3rd with some 20 minutes remaining in the game. And then came the 4th, as the hosts were awarded a penalty for a handball in the area, and Messi sealed the victory with a superbly executed Panenka.
