The six candidates running for president in Iran have held their second televised debate, two weeks ahead of the vote. They answered questions about domestic and foreign policy as well as cultural issues, explaining their future agendas.
During the debate, the candidates also criticized each other's plans. Much of the criticism was directed at incumbent President Hassan Rouhani by his rivals Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, Mostafa Aqa-Mirsalim and Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi.
They blasted Rouhani’s administration over several issues, including job-creation, improving people’s livelihood and the country's nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Mirsalim, Raeesi and Qalibaf blamed the Rouhani administration for the existing problems in the implementation of the JCPOA, claiming that Western sanctions have not been fully removed.
