The latest edition of the FIFA World Rankings is out with Brazil staying at the top of the largely unchanged table and Iran retaining their 28th spot as Asia’s highest-ranked nation.
None of the leading South American and European teams took to the pitch in April.
However, Brazil extended their lead over second-placed Argentina because of FIFA’s evaluation system which gives more value to matches played in the past year.
2014 World Cup winners Germany are still 3rd ahead of Chile and Colombia. Meanwhile, Carlos Queiroz’s men are 28th with 820 points as the best Asian team.
South Korea, Japan, Australia and Saudi Arabia complete the top 5 Asian teams.
