A new smartphone application by a Danish company has turned food fanatics into restaurateurs, letting them host dinner parties for paying guests.

‘Taste-Please’ happily styles itself as a dining app. Hosts can make a profile, create an event and then begin adding information including location, price, number of guests and details on the menu.

The app allows hosts to set their events’ prices and view interested guests' profiles before accepting them. Guests can write a review of their experience afterward.

Guests add their credit card details to their profiles and are charged automatically, just like other applications.

Frank Lantz explains that “the idea behind TastePlease is really quite simple – we want to bring people together through a shared passion for food.” (photo by lantz.dk)

Many believe the app could be particularly useful when visiting new countries, allowing tourists to sample authentic food and meet friendly locals.
