Rafael Nadal has defeated Kevin Anderson 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals of the Barcelona Open.

The Spaniard converted a break point in each set to secure his 7th straight clay-court victory.

It was Nadal’s 50th victory at the tournament he has won 9 times. The World No.5 never looked in danger against the world number 66, forcing 10 break points throughout the match.

Nadal will next face South Korean Hyeon Chung on Friday. The Korean beat Alexander Zverev of Germany 6-1, 6-4.
