El Clasico: Barcelona 3-2 Real Madrid

Lionel Messi has scored a dramatic stoppage time goal in El Clasico to help Barcelona notch up a 3-2 win over Real Madrid at, as the Catalan giants find themselves sit atop La Liga standings on goal difference.

Defensive midfielder Casemiro opened the scoring for the hosts just before the half-hour mark as he turned home a rebound from close range. It took just four minutes for Barca to level matters with the Argentine super star dribbling past two Real defenders before drilling home a left-footed strike.

17 minutes from time and Ivan Rakitic put the visitors ahead as he sent the ball arrowing into the far corner to leave Madrid keeper Keylor Navas with absolutely no chance.

Things could get even worse for Los Blancos a few minutes later when Sergio Ramos received his marching order for a challenge on Messi. But James Rodriguez came off the bench in the 86th minute to provide yet another twist in the thriller, when he fired the ball into the roof of the net to make it 2-2.

But just when it seemed Zinedine Zidane's men had salvaged a valuable draw, Messi netted deep into added time, scored his 500th Barcelona goal to seal the deal for the Catalans.
